When something was wrong it was I who was called. When dues were due, I was the bad guy who had to go around and collect them. If someone was delinquent long enough I was the bad guy who had to put a lien on their house and then harangue them into paying. I wrote the newsletter, I took the minutes, I paid the bills and once I re-built the bridge by myself when a storm washed it away. Everything was going well.
