What do I call a jacket that looks like a windbreaker on the outside and has material like a hoodie on the inside? Fleece-lined, (or knit-lined, if it’s cotton sweatshirt type material,) soft-shell, light-duty jacket; I’m sure there are lots of detailed descriptions out there in the creative and competitive fashion industry, but jacket pretty much covers a windbreaker that keeps you warm. One of the things marketing people don’t often advertise, is that they go out of their way to make products sound fancy, exciting and unique. You may find ten names among seven brands of clothing, for what is essentially the same item. They don’t want you to buy the other company’s product, so they rarely just call it “jacket” or “coat” anymore. Ever since I got that hoodie, I’ve practically lived in it and I never take it off (I do). But other than that hoodie, I have another one which I really love and it’s my birthday one.
